Meet…Leanne Pollard

Leanne Pollard is an experienced family law solicitor and manages our Horsforth office. Here, we catch up with her to find out a little bit about her background and experience…

What is your role at Holden Smith and how did you get into a career in law?

I am head of family law and head up our Horsforth office. I have been a qualified solicitor for 17 years, having started my training contract in 2003 and qualifying in 2005 at a high street firm. In 2007, I became the manager of the branch I worked from and went on to become the head of family law in 2008.  I moved branches but stayed with the firm until I joined Holden Smith.

What are your specialist areas, and what do you enjoy most about your job?

I cover all areas of family law, including divorce, married and unmarried finances, pre or post nuptial agreements, children issues and injunctions.

I enjoy helping clients who are often going through the most difficult and challenging experiences they have ever faced.

What is your number one career highlight?

Getting to the stage where much of my work comes from personal recommendations, as I think this shows you are making a real difference to, and an impact on, clients’ lives.

Why Holden Smith? What do you think makes Holden Smith different to other firms?

I have joined to develop the family department for this growing firm.  I like the way that Holden Smith serves local communities and retains the down to earth feel with all clients.

What three words do you think (hope!) your colleagues would use to describe you?

Adventurous, kind and helpful.

What’s your favourite spot in Yorkshire and why?

I love Leeds, having lived here all my life, but I think York is my favourite place to visit.

What is your party trick?

Organising group trips and weekends away with family and friends.  I have a trip to Center Parcs coming up for 64 people!
