What is your role at Holden Smith and how did you get into a career in law?

I’m a director and manage Holden Smith’s Ilkley office. I worked for a major UK High Street Bank before going into corporate relocations, which then led me into conveyancing just over 20 years ago.

What are we likely to find you doing on a day-to-day basis?

Managing the Ilkley office and dealing with client instructions and enquiries. I also run a caseload of residential conveyancing files.

What kind of problem might you solve on a typical day / week?

Various Legal Title issues on both sales and purchases, as well as any issues with mortgage offer conditions and search result entries.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

Getting the client’s case completed within their desired timescales.

Buttertubs Pass in North Yorkshire for the road and the views.

What’s your party trick?

Disappearing early from nights out because I want my bed!
